Over a decade ago my wife and I walked into a CrossFit gym. Not knowing what to expect I took it all with an open mind. After one class I was hooked. Without even catching my breath I was committed. Coming from a medical background I saw first hand what happens if we don’t take care of our body. Helping people has always been a part of my life and something I feel passionate about. CrossFit is how I take control of my own personal health journey.
After just a few months I was able to do things that I never thought I would be doing. Was getting stronger and faster. Started to compete in competitions. I wanted to share my experience and knowledge which led me to my L1 CrossFit certification in 2013. Shortly after earning my certification I started coaching and realized this is something I want to do forever. In 2014, I became USAW and CWC certified. In 2015, I was blessed with my first child. With a newborn at home and working in the medical field along with coaching I noticed I was missing a lot of “firsts” and had to make a decision. I decided to open my own CrossFit in 2016, CrossFit East Providence. In year 1 I continued to work in the medical field and CFEP. I welcomed my 2nd child into this world. CrossFit is not only about physical health but being mentally healthy. We are a supportive and positive community at CrossFit East Providence. It’s my dream and lifelong journey.

Coach
Justine joined CrossFit in 2015 looking for a change in her normal gym routine. The constantly varied workouts completed in only an hour seemed more appealing to fit her busy schedule in grad school. She quickly fell in love with the progressions in strength and gymnastic movements. Justine started her fitness journey long before CrossFit, successfully losing 85 pounds 5 years prior, but she became a driven athlete after joining the supportive community and competitive aspect of CrossFit.
This athletic mindset and desire to help other athletes lead Justine to become a CrossFit coach in 2017, holding a Level 1 CrossFit certification. When she’s not at the gym, Justine is a Physician Assistant at Rhode Island Hospital caring for patients in the ICU setting. Her medical background is helpful in understanding body mechanics and fuels her passion for the impact health and wellness can have on an individual’s life.
